Each year, industry and academia self-invest significant resources into scientific study and technology research. The EDGE harnesses these resources and couples them with emerging requirements from multiple government technology users. The result — a world-class incubator that synchronizes capability gaps and needs with technology solutions. This is done through an open forum where EDGE members and supporters can engage in joint experimentation and knowledge sharing.
Knowledge Management at the EDGE rests on four pillars:
Visioneering is the process of capturing an EDGE member's collective technical information and interests and aligning these with user needs. This compendium of technical expertise is a shared resource that multiplies each member's individual contributions into a comprehensive asset available to all EDGE members.
Calls for Innovation (CFIs) are the mechanisms by which the EDGE reaches out to all interested industry, academic, and government organizations and requests solutions to seemingly unfulfilled technical requirement. Responses to CFIs can be submitted by any EDGE member organization who desire to engage. CFI’s are open competition opportunities for fulfilling the top challenges facing EDGE supporters today and in the future.

EDGE KMS - Topsight Member Analysis Tools Complex Visualizations / Dashboards / Raw Data |
The EDGE Knowledge Management Suite (KMS) is the means by which data in the EDGE is collected and transformed into actionable information for consumption by all EDGE members. The KMS provides reports and metrics about EDGE operations as well as being the basis for the development and refinement of the EDGE Synthesis Process. This includes the supporter companion to the Member Visioneering process, which is called VIZioneering. The VIZioneering package identifies and prioritizes key issues facing an organization. The KMS also supports the EDGE virtual space.
Collaboration is the cornerstone on which the EDGE is built. The unique innovation model employed by the EDGE depends entirely on its members' and user/customers' willingness to cooperate and collaborate for the mutual benefit of EDGE supporters and members alike.
